Welcome to Lewis Flamson 2026-27 School Year!

Posted Date: 07/27/26 (08:21 AM)

Lewis Flamson Parents,

Welcome to the 2026-27 school year.  As our 8th graders know, we had an amazing year last year. It was full of learning, activities, sports, music and building a strong junior high culture in the traditions of the former schools Lewis and Flamson.

We are excited to welcome our new 7th graders to that culture!  There will be more parent square messages to come, but I wanted to start by welcoming our new 7th graders and even some new 8th graders this year.

First of all, we are offering our 7th graders the opportunity to pick up schedules on Friday, August 7 from 11am-1pm.  During this time, you can take a tour with our leadership students and meet admin. My assistant Principal Ms. Wilson and I (Dr. Duncan) will be available for Q&A in the MPR during this time.

FLIER FOR 7th GRADE SCHEDULE/TOUR DATE

8th grade Schedules will be ready to view in Aeries Portal on the same date if parents complete the Parent Data Confirmations (PDC) that open next week in Aeries.

Now for ALL our students, here's some important things to know: (Most of this can be found by clicking here for our Parent/Family Handbook)

We are the Jaguars, and we R.O.A.R. by showing Respect, Ownership, Awareness and Resilience.

We use Yondr Bags. Students are not allowed to use cellphones, airpods/earbuds/headphones on campus.  They must be placed in the Yondr bags upon entering school each day. Yondr bags will be distributed the first day of school to students.

Students should not enter campus with open drinks and food such as Starbucks, energy drinks, 7eleven food items, etc.  If these items are sealed, they can bring them so long as they save them for nutrition and/or lunch breaks.  Any students with open drinks or food will be asked to finish it outside before entering campus or to throw it away.

While I want this to be a positive first message, I need to address student behavior.  Student Safety is our top priority and helps to ensure learning can happen.  We take this very seriously.  We will teach our students appropriate behaviors to help them grow and become the amazing Jaguars we expect.  Here are our Behavior Expectations: CLICK HERE for MATRIX

  • More serious infractions will be dealt with swiftly.  We work closely with PRPD and even have an SRO (PRPD officer) stationed on our campus.
  • Parents should know that we "cite for fights" as well as for drugs. Any students participating in these activities will be cited by our police officer and they and their parents must attend court in addition to school consequences for the student up-to and including suspension and expulsion.  There are no additional warnings for these activities.
  • Students must feel safe in order to learn.

There is a new PRJUSD Dress Code!  Much of it is the same with a few changes. Key changes are No Midriffs and No Pajama Pants  Click here for the dress code in written form.

Finally, we have an After School Program this year!  You should have already received information about this.  We only have a few spots, so sign up quickly!!

We look forward to an amazing school year!

Dr. Duncan - Principal
